Guys, thanks so much for your warm & supportive feedback on my last post. Yay! I'm so thrilled to know you enjoy seeing items re-worn on the blog, as well as share my sentiment on it being more realistic. As a result, I'm feeling super excited to start re-mixing my pieces for fall. And to kick things off, I wanted to share with you four ways that I've worn my beloved mustard skirt. Looking to add one to your closet?... this one is pretty great!

Is there anything more delicious than late evening sun?! Sigh, I've been loving it! So with the new season officially here (I can hardly believe it!), I've been spending time re-organizing my closet: pulling out sweaters, organizing my tights, belts, hats and packing away all my summer dresses. Also, I went a little crazy this year and bought a brand new "basics" wardrobe - it feels beyond great... I'll be sure to share a little bit more about that later this week.
And speaking of closets?! I'm really hoping to buy less this season (hold me to it guys) and spend a little more time getting creative with what I own. Prepare yourselves for a lot more re-mixes. I have to admit, sometimes I feel a little guilty wearing the same piece on the blog, but then I think... hey, that's life, and so much more realistic. Am I right?! I'm also hoping to start purchasing more high quality pieces and less disposable fashion. I'm excited for that!
I swear taking photos during golden hour has got to be my new favourite. We're hoping to head out later this week to an abandoned heritage area/field and take more outfit photos. I can't wait. I just might have to pull out my favourite fall tights for that, and fingers crossed, we stop off for some ice-cream too - summer may be over but my longing for ice-cream is safely intact! ;)

Yay, happy Friday, guys! I thought I'd mix up my usual sponsor spotlight post and do a Friday Favourites post instead. I had so much fun browsing all of these beautiful sites! With fall now officially starting tomorrow, I'm dreaming of adding pretty dresses + cozy knits to my wardrobe. I'm loving anything in shades of mustard, burgundy, navy, and dark chocolate brown. Ah, so pretty! What's on your fall list?!
1. The perfect little swing jacket for fall from Anthropologie. Wear it with skinny jeans, a patterned pencil skirt or over a fave dress. So lovely!!
2. I've been swooning over the vintage wallpaper dress all week. So cute! I'd love to pair it with burnt orange tights & t-straps. Voila, totally coffee date ready!
3. How delicious looking is this recipe from M Loves M?! I can't wait to make this old fashioned blueberry coffee cake - the only hitch? Not eating it all in one day!
4. I have a bit of a bag obsession. I usually buy a new one at the beginning of each season... and this bling bag from Jigsaw is absolute perfection. Plus, I love that it's big enough for my camera! ;)
5. I'd love to refresh our couch with this lovely striped throw. I adore mixing patterns in our home, and in fact, I hope to do a home tour on the blog soon. This lovely blanket can be found at Dwell Studio.
5. Love the collar, the subtle peplum and that pattern. Swoon! This rosy whisper floral blouse from Ruche would look so gorgeous with a pair of coloured jeans and flats.
6. Seriously, how adorable are these Modcloth light of heart wedges. The colour combo is so gorgeous + I'm such a sucker for wedge heels and straps.
7. Love this pretty vintage necklace from Dear Golden, such a pretty accompaniment to a cocktail dress for an evening out!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!!
Lots of love,
I can’t believe we are getting into tights season! Most days our temperatures are still incredibly warm but we’ve had a few cooler evenings and I'm happily taking advantage of them. I can’t wait to start layering more! This week, I’ve started noticing little signs of fall everywhere - I’ve spotted yellow & red leaves and I’ve even had the fireplace on a few times this week. It feels pretty great!
I love outfits like this: dresses, tights, booties. Super comfy & cozy! I can see this being a real go-to look for me this fall. As for the dress?! I bought it from Tieka’s shop, of Selective Potential - I seriously adore that girl's style! On a separate note, I’m thinking of opening my own online shop. My poor closet is overflowing with clothes and I'd love to make room for some new items. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Otherwise, it’s been a pretty busy week. I’ve been feeling extra motivated and catching up on little life bits... cleaning the car, sorting our budget, reviewing some investments, organizing our home and my business. It’s the stuff you never want to do, but then, it feels so great once you’ve done it. Tonight, I’m hoping to treat myself to TV watching & baking. Whoo-hoo! I'm eying this recipe, Flour-less Peanut Butter Cookies - I'll be sure to let you know how they turn out. Have a great day, everyone!

Denim Jacket - H&M (similar)
Dress - Selective Potential
Belt - Old Navy

Here's a little peek into our beach date/weekend. On Sunday evening when the temperatures cooled, Martin & I headed down to one of our favourite ocean-side parks. It's about a 20 minute drive from our home and situated in a semi-rural community, which has the most amazing hiking + horse trails scattered throughout. Have you guys been horseback riding?! It's something I've always wanted to try!
Wishing you guys a happy & smooth Monday! :)
Lots of love,
Lots of love,
It’s been so gorgeous out! With fall approaching, we're having the most incredible bright pink sunsets and the air has started to turn a little crisp. Mornings are spent piling on the cozy knits and curling up with hot steamed vanilla milk. Yum! I’m slowly getting more & more excited for the season ahead. To me, fall always feels like a fresh start - the world seems full of endless possibilities with the promise of new beginnings. Plus, I can’t wait to take blog photos during such a beautiful season!
I received this gorgeous top from PB&J Boutique! I love the girly and slightly boho vibe of it, the embroidered flowers & open back are such pretty details. I’ve also been pairing it with pencil skirts and summer shorts. And, I’m eying their tie front top - the colours & bird print are so lovely... I can’t imagine a more perfect blouse for fall! I'm definitley adding it to my [growing] must have list! ;)
This week has been a real mix. We were hit with some unexpected financial stress (never fun) but thankfully everything has been resolved, phew! I’m also tapering off my medication, which is leaving me feeling super fatigued, and well, like I’d rather be in bed snuggled up to my pets than face the big world. But this weekend I’m looking forward to getting out and doing some fall shopping + heading down to the ocean for a picnic, and spending lots of time with my hubby. Always the perfect cheer me up! Happy almost weekend, friends!

We love getting out & visiting Martin's parents on the weekend; they're only 5 minutes away, and we feel pretty lucky to have them so close. We spent a part of our Sunday relaxing on their deck, BBQ'd and enjoyed the most glorious sunshine. I wore my newly purchased Madewell cardy and can't wait to style it up on the blog. As for today?! I'm determined to get a handle on my in-box... geez, it's scary over there!! ;) Hope your Monday is a good one, friends!
PS - I'll be back later this week with an outfit post, see you then!
Lots of love,
Lots of love,
Say hello to my new favourite top. I seriously can't believe it took me so long to jump on the peplum trend... and in stripes no less, double win!! Lately, I've been wearing & loving the look of pencil skirts - I'm foreseeing they'll be a major wardrobe staple of mine come this fall! It's such a fun silhouette to play with, and I'd love to add this one & this one to my wardrobe. Pretty darn cute, right?!
I used to shy away from pencil skirts a little because I felt like they were too reveling, showing off my every bulge. Gulp! But, I've been really disciplined with my diet and exercise plan this summer, read: super healthy, no starving here. In fact, I'm following the Weight Watchers program and it's been great, it's helped me loose those pesky 10 pounds. So... that's definitley helped me find some extra confidence for trying different looks. Yay! What's your take on pencil skirts?!
This week I've noticed a few leaves starting to hit the ground (I'm secretly getting excited!!) but our temperatures have continued feeling warm & summery. It's been heaven! Martin & I are still out gallivanting in our shorts and hanging on to the last of our summer days... barbequing delicious meals together, going for long windy forested drives (my fave) and watching the sunset from our patio. Hah, we're so predictable, right?! Hope your Friday is terrific, friends!!
