Last year, you couldn't get me out of floral pattern skirts & dresses, and this spring the same seems to be true for colour. I've been wearing it non-stop!! For me, it's the easiest way to make a statement & gives my basics such a fun twist. And my other new obsession?! Cherry blossoms! They seem to be making their way into every post this spring - our neighbourhood is exploding with them and they've quickly become my new fave backdrop!

This past weekend was so lovely & relaxing, which was a far cry from my work week but that makes relaxing all the sweeter, right?! On Friday, Martin had a guys night and I decided to stay in - I bought a bottle of wine, made a gourmet salad, and gave myself an at-home facial. I also (guilty confession!) watched "The Real Housewives of Vancouver." I was SO curious to see a show about my own city. Has anyone else watched it?!

Other than that, I just added a few new styles (with lots more to come) to the "Oh, Poppy!" store,  like these super pretty leaf earrings and this eternity necklace. I'm also hoping to do a giveaway once all the new styles are finished. Yay! And today?! It's business as usual - work, work... and work! Hope your Monday is a good one, friends. xo veronika

Hello, friends! Is everyone excited it's Friday?! Martin & I have so many fun things planned - I can't wait for the weekend to start! I'm especially excited to be doing a jewelry party with my girlfriends this Sunday - yay! Anywho, let's take a peek at this month's sponsors... they are lovely!! ♥

I was beyond excited to head into the city (any excuse to dress up, right?!) and meet up with my blogger friends for dinner & super yummy champagne. We were all there to toast our friend Alex of "To Vogue or Bust" on her internship at Toronto's FASHION magazine. Yay!! And oh my, it was such a beautiful evening to be out: late evening sun, cherry blossoms, and the most deliciously sweet smelling air. Ah, I've been in a perpetually fabulous mood!!

Earlier in the day, I took myself shopping and picked up this adorable H&M dress for our blogger dinner. I had so much fun... I visited Zara, Forever21, Banana Republic, Coach, and stocked up on make-up at Sephora. I was pretty overwhelmed by all the gorgeous spring items... mint hued lace, bold stripes, patent leather sandals and statement necklaces galore. Sigh. Let's just say my wish list is now ridiculously huge! ;)

Well today I'm busy, busy... I'm excitedly working on several new jewelry pieces for the online store. This past week I've been taking a wire wrapping course and learning a ton of new techniques, which has been loads of fun! I have so many wonderful ideas for the future and I can't wait to see the store grow - it's a creative project that I'm really excited to be working on. Alright friends, I'm off to plan my outfit for tonight's event at The Bay downtown, where I'll be previewing their spring collection and catching up with my favourite bloggers. Hope you guys enjoyed a fantastic weekend! As promised, here are a few photos from our stay-cation. On our first day, we decided to stick close to home, where we enjoyed a fabulous ocean-side brunch (lobster & eggs benedict, yum!), walked along the pier, took a bazillion photos and then headed to our local market and stocked up on fresh gourmet food. For me, a day of relaxing means lots of tasty eats & a glass of wine - or two! Can't wait to share part two with you next week!! Enjoy the photos...

Yay, it feels so great to be back with an outfit post! Martin & I enjoyed a marvelous few days off - we had a super fun stay-cation! I’ll be posting a few casual snaps from it sometime next week. And I must say, with all the warm & beautiful weather we’ve been having, oh my goodness, I’m ready to be on permanent vacation... I’m in fact writing this post while I sit on our patio, sipping a glass of wine. Ah, heaven!

Cherry blossoms! Hooray, I couldn't resist! As for the outfit, I’ve been living in some sort of variation of this all week: long cardy, silk cami & a woven knotted belt. I’ve also paired it with skinny jeans, a maxi skirt, and over my favourite modcloth dress. And since we're on the topic of fashion, I’m so excited to have purchased these Jeffrey Campbell sandals in tan; they have the loveliest feminine/vintage vibe. I'm certain I'll be living in them all spring - consider yourselves warned. ;)

Other than that... this weekend I'm heading into the city for a fashion blogger dinner - our good pal Alex is off to Toronto for an internship at Canada's FASHION magazine. Pretty amazing, right?! I'm so excited for her, and it seriously couldn't be happening to a nicer person. On a separate note, I just gave the "Oh, Poppy!" store a little spring makeover and I'll be adding a few new pieces in the next week or so... I'll be sure to announce it here. Today I thought I'd share a few of my fave spring inspirations! Lately, I've been filling my wishlists with brightly coloured basics, pretty pastel skinny belts, statement necklaces like this one, and trying to sneak in as many ice-cream dates as possible. Happy Monday, friends!! xo veronika

After what felt like an insanely long winter, this warm (actually hot!) weather has turned me into a grinning fool. Seriously, this past winter couldn’t end fast enough. It seemed to drag on forever, and taking outfit photos when it’s freezing out?! Really, not that fun. However, when we were taking these photos, I kept shouting to Martin: “I’m so warm, isn’t this amazing?! This is the most beautiful day ever. Ah, I love being outside!!” Yup, a grinning & apparently babbling fool. ;)

For this look, I really liked mixing my new plaid shirt with a bold stripe. I’m kind of living in both patterns lately. And speaking of plaid, I’m eying this adorable dress from ModCloth, which I thought would be absolutely perfect for a beach date this upcoming summer. Martin & I are planning to do a day trip over to Crescent Beach in the next couple of weeks. Hooray, I’m pretty excited about that - it's stunning there!

Aside from getting through a huge pile of work & finishing up our pesky taxes... come on Friday! Martin & I are treating ourselves to a stay-cation this weekend. We haven't had a weekend off together in an embarrassingly long time: there will be lots of barbecuing, napping, afternoon wine drinking, excessive pet cuddling and we’ll probably end it all off with a dip in our hot tub - you know, all the important stuff! xo veronika
