Look Book: Neutrals, Ikat Prints & Blossoms!!

Apr 19, 2012

Yay, it feels so great to be back with an outfit post! Martin & I enjoyed a marvelous few days off - we had a super fun stay-cation! I’ll be posting a few casual snaps from it sometime next week. And I must say, with all the warm & beautiful weather we’ve been having, oh my goodness, I’m ready to be on permanent vacation... I’m in fact writing this post while I sit on our patio, sipping a glass of wine. Ah, heaven!
Cherry blossoms! Hooray, I couldn't resist! As for the outfit, I’ve been living in some sort of variation of this all week: long cardy, silk cami & a woven knotted belt. I’ve also paired it with skinny jeans, a maxi skirt, and over my favourite modcloth dress. And since we're on the topic of fashion, I’m so excited to have purchased these Jeffrey Campbell sandals in tan; they have the loveliest feminine/vintage vibe. I'm certain I'll be living in them all spring - consider yourselves warned. ;)
Other than that... this weekend I'm heading into the city for a fashion blogger dinner - our good pal Alex is off to Toronto for an internship at Canada's FASHION magazine. Pretty amazing, right?! I'm so excited for her, and it seriously couldn't be happening to a nicer person. On a separate note, I just gave the "Oh, Poppy!" store a little spring makeover and I'll be adding a few new pieces in the next week or so... I'll be sure to announce it here. Happy Thursday, friends! xo veronika

  12. Really cute outfit! I have a similar skirt, and I style it similarly to this. I'm curious about the belt, though--I'm such a fumble bumble when it comes to fancy tricks with belts! Any tips? Possibly a tutorial (for the hopeless, like myself!)?

    Thanks!

  50. Sometimes a staycation is just what the dr. ordered! I hope you had a great, relaxing few days! I love the fun print of that skirt paired with neutrals, especially that perfectly knotted belt!

  51. awe, the stay-cation sounded like just what the balance doctor ordered! so good to hear it was fun times for you both, most deserved after the amount of hard work you guys put into everything you do!

loving this playful, relaxed look a bunch. you really do have the longest legs and the length of this skirt emphasizes such a striking overall silhouette. i've gotta implement the neatly belted look more often, should of taken a style note from you. seriously... i wore the wrong thing on our night out. you know how you get caught up with a certain piece and very fixated. well what i put together just ended up being more mu-mu and less ra-ra. perhaps i should have followed my own idea of snapping an approval shot 1st before stepping out the door. ah well, live and learn. so glad i've got insp like you girls to set me straight :) happy Sunday! xo ♥
