Look Book: Mustard + A Pop Of Neon Pink

It's safe to say, I love my mustard skirt! I've already worn it several times on the blog, which you can peek at here & here! I find the colour to be really versatile and I'm hoping to wear it again with a lovely mint cami + a mint statement necklace this summer. What's your favourite mustard pairing?! I'd love to get some more ideas!
As for this past weekend?! It was pretty great! I visited with two local & super lovely bloggers, Cee and Leonie, for a mid-afternoon clothing swap. Then on Sunday, Martin and I headed out for a tasty breakfast, took our dog Scout down to the ocean, and kicked back at our local pub. The weather was pretty glorious and we spent our day shamelessly soaking it all in!

It's funny how sometimes I feel a little sheepish posting my super casual looks, but nevertheless I'm forging forward & keeping it real! Here's what I wore just the other day for an afternoon of errands and neigbourhood loafing. What about you guys, do you like seeing and or showing more relaxed looks on your own blogs?!
I've been loving stripes on stripes! I'd also love to pair this tee with a bold vertical striped skirt - how cute would that be?! I recently developed a double pattern crush after seeing my blogging pal Tieka wearing two types of polka dots - such a fun & fabulous idea! On that note, hope your weekend is a great one, guys. Look Book: Denim + Easy Summer Dresses

This chain-link dress is absolutely one of my favourites! I originally ordered it from eShatki this past winter and I've been waiting to bust it out again with strappy sandals & a denim jacket. I'm also hoping to wear it again with a white blazer (my new style crush!) and a pair of simple flats for a weekend lunch. Love!!
The past few days have been pretty great. We've been in the throes of celebrating Martin's birthday and enjoying the company of a few out of town guests. Tomorrow we're heading into the city to meet up with my high school bestie Michelle - she's here from London with her husband & their six month old baby girl Veva. Maxi dresses & knotted cardigans have become my new "warm weather" go-to, and for this spring I'm excited to add a few more relaxed pieces to my wardrobe such as: maxi skirts, loose open stitch sweaters, a cropped denim jacket, and a ridiculous amount of flat strappy sandals. What about you guys? Any spring/summer pieces you're excited for?!
This weekend, we'll be heading into the city to celebrate Martin's birthday. We're off to one of his favourite restaurants, and being the food dork that I am, I've already scoured their online menu and decided on a mushroom/hazelnut ravioli dish as well as their infamous lychee fruit martini. Hello! Firstly, thank you so much for all of your lovely comments & tweets about my new template. I felt a little nervous making such a dramatic change to my blog, but if felt right, and your kind words definitley put my mind at ease. I still have a few things to tweak and you may have noticed that my photos are dramatically larger. Haha, I wanted to call this post "gingham + big head" but I refrained. ;)
While writing the outfit details for this post, I realized I'm wearing all H&M - definitley not intentional, it's safe to say I shop there often! I bought this shirt just this past winter, and I've been waiting to bust it out with a floral pattern come spring - voila! A New Look + This Cutie Pie

Lately I’ve been craving simplicity as well as making a conscious effort to pair things down in both my home & work life, which feels a little over-due and it’s such a welcome breath of fresh air. In the spirit of this new inspiration, I’m excited to be giving the blog a little “minimalist” makeover. Whoo-hoo! I’ll still be focusing on the same content but I’ve got a few new ideas up my sleeve too: sharing a bit more of my photography, how-to tutorials, featuring upcoming designers, and more of my adventure posts. I'm excited! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a photo of this cuddle muffin.

Look Book: Yellow Hues, Blue Skies & An Event!!

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending an event in the city hosted by "The Bay," Canada's leading department store. So fun!! I was pretty darn excited to go because it meant getting off work early - yes! I usually work 12/14 hours a day, which is fine... I sincerely love what I do but this was such a nice treat. I previewed upcoming spring/summer trends, chatted with my favourite local bloggers and sipped champagne - a truly lovely evening!!
Yay! I was thrilled to finally meet Monika of the The Doctors Closet, and Chelle of Discovering Elegance - such sweet gals! And (of course!) my usual fashion blogging buddies too: Alicia, Randa, Leonie, Mena & Jen. What about you guys? Do you attend fashion events within in your own city?! It was something that was discussed at this year's TXSC conference and something I'm trying to do a little more of - besides, they had me at champagne! ;)
As for my own look?! I opted for colour. Yellow seems to be such a fun & popular hue this spring and I can see why - it's an instant pick me up! Otherwise, I kept it simple with a grey cardigan and threw in my gold Coach bag for a little extra glamour + my new Jeffrey Campbell wedges, which I promise to not wear in every single post, haha! Look Book: Train Stations & 70's Inspired Denim!!

Do you guys ever feel like life is a little over planned?! That's how Martin & I have been feeling lately. We've been growing conscious of the fact that we're usually pretty swept up with work obligations, social events, and day-to-day errands. Argh! Since our stay-cation, we've been trying to carve out a little more space in our lives, time for just the two of us, and on this particular day we did just that!!
We started our day off with a little trip to our local train museum. They actually serve tea on the train in the late afternoon - super cute! I love living in a town with so many photogenic locations, because it makes having a blog really fun and I'm always up for a little exploring too. The rest of our day was spent at the mall: we shopped, people watched, pigged out at the food fair, and lost track of time (oh bliss!)... Martin & I sat there for hours just chatting and laughing. Ah, seriously therapeutic and exactly what I needed!!
Handbag Heaven just sent me this adorable cross body bag - it's absolutely perfect for the spring season. Their bags are great quality + super affordable too! And yup, my fave cardigan is back. I just wore it earlier this week with my mustard skirt, and now with my jeans. I'm loving bright coloured cardy's this season. I have several more I'm hoping to buy this month from modcloth... like this one & this one! What's on your list?! xo veronika
