Look Book: 70's Vintage Dresses & A Blogger Swap!

A few weekends ago I attended a blogger clothing swap, which was hosted by the gorgeous Cee of "Coco & Vera!" It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon -super fun & really relaxing! Just what this overworked girl needed. And as if cute clothes and fabulous company wasn't enough, we also nibbled (or in my case devoured) strawberry birthday cake, delicious cupcakes, and sipped pink champagne. We were celebrating a few September birthdays. Adorable!
I decided on this vintage dress, which I had just thrifted a few weeks ago. I absolutely love that it's an authentic 70's piece, and it's so different from anything else I own. Also, it works perfectly with my retro inspired Jeffrey Campbell platforms, which I promise not to wear for every single post. I don't know how they keep ending up in all of my outfit photos this week! ;-)
What an awesome day! I love that I get to see these lovely gals once a month. It's kind of amazing that we've all come together because of our blogs -how fantastic is that?! And the best part is that everyone is so sweet, sincere and super supportive of one another's blogs & endeavors. Amazing! ♥

Look Book: Swapped Dresses & Lovely Fall Hues!

It's official! Fall is in the air and I couldn't be more thrilled! I'm absolutely loving the mild weather, and I'm excitedly welcoming layers back into my life: tights, scarves, cardigans -yes please!! The evenings have been so splendid... we've enjoyed the most vivid sunsets, the air is cool & crisp, and the smell of wood burning fireplaces is everywhere! I'm loving the change of season. Next on the list? Making loads of yummy potato & yam stews. Don't you guys just love fall?!

I absolutely adore this dress and loved styling it up over the weekend. It's from my most recent blogger swap and belongs to the gorgeous Cara of "A Fashion Love Affair" -you can see how she styled it here: "Prints Please." Swapping clothes has got to be the most brilliant idea, ever! It's such a great way to try new styes, and I love the challenge of styling someone else's items & making them feel like my own. Oh my goodness *sigh* I've been so tired lately, guys. Did anyone see my tweet yesterday? I was up at 4:30 AM, which is so crazy!! I can't quite seem to sleep more than 5 hours lately. Yikes! The only upside to me being this tired, is that my sense of humor is on fire. I'm zany & funny, and my hubby can't stop laughing. So thankfully, it's not all bad. ;-)

Look Book: Midi Length Skirts & Late Afternoons...

Hey guys! Well, the hot weather pretty much came & went since my last post. What was that I said about enjoying every last minute of summer?! We sadly had to cancel our camping trip due to the heavy rain we've been having. Sigh, but fingers crossed for an island getaway this fall. I'm dreaming of crunching leaves, roaring fires, yummy hot chocolate & multi-coloured marshmallows. Ah, I absolutely love fall -it's perfection!

Martin (hubs) & I took these outfit photos over the weekend, and I was SO excited to style my brand new Jeffrey Campbell's -love, love them!! Side note: you may be seeing them a lot over the next few weeks; haha, consider yourselves warned! Also, I thrifted several midi length skirts for fall, including this one. I immediately fell in love with the soft pleats & petite polka dots, and at only $4?! Way too perfect to leave behind!

The fabulous folks at Sproos sent me this adorable headband. I just adore it! I love that it's made of 100% silk, super comfortable and really well made. Look Book: Happy, Happy, Polka Dots!

Wow, it's hard to believe that fall is less than two weeks away! Martin (hubs) and I are clinging to the last few hot days we have left and trying to make the most of this lovely summer season! Sundresses, ocean walks, dinners on the patio, and even a camping trip later this week; seems like the perfect way to end off summer. Hooray!
I absolutely adore wearing vintage &/or vintage inspired dresses, so naturally when I found this one at H&M, I was totally smitten! Seriously, how adorable are those polka dots. Love 'em! Oh, and speaking of all things fun & adorable, I'm off to a blogger swap this Sunday and I can't wait. Yippee! I love being a part of the blogging community; it's so much fun to be able to connect with other like-minded girls. Let the outfit planning begin!

Look Book: Vintage Inspired Skirts & Forest Walks

Today was one of those perfect days! My hair was co-operating. I didn't stand in front of my closet (forever) wondering what to wear. And even though fall is just around the corner, it was delightfully hot, sunny and just plain gorgeous! Hubs and I spent the day roaming around our forested neighbourhood where we found a lovely patch of yummy blackberries and this new to us ocean-side trail, then ended our day snuggled on the couch catching up on a few of our fave TV shows. Yay!


I bought this oh-so adorable skirt from ModCloth earlier this year and I have re-styled it a few times already. If you guys are curious, you can check out my other versions here: early spring and late spring! And, ta-da, now I’ve styled it up for summer. Also, drum roll please... I’ve finally purchased my first pair of Jeffrey Campbells. Yipee! I ordered the splendid heels in tan; they should be arriving at my doorstep any day now -the countdown is on!! I keep doing a little dance around the house! Haha, I’m like a kid at Christmas ...apparently I’ve lost it.


And in other blogging news?! I’m so thrilled to be back to my usual “two per week” outfit post schedule. Phew, life got a little hectic this summer. Anyone else? Look Book: Sunsets & Sundresses...

Hello! Last Friday night, Martin (hubs) & I headed out for a little sunset picnic. Ah, it was such a blast! We brought a cozy blanket, our fave bottle of wine and ate some super yummy cheese. Hands down my fave photo-shoot yet! I seriously wish I could bring that gorgeous "golden light" to all of my photo-shoots. Pretty amazing, right?!
Oh, and on a totally separate note, did you guys register for Tieka's INDIE e-conference for New York fashion week? I just signed up and can't wait -it sounds absolutely amazing! I would have loved to have gone to NY this year. Sigh. But I'm planning to [hopefully] attend next year. How fun would that be?! I've actually never been to New York and I'm kind of dying to go!
I absolutely love this equestrian inspired dress from ModCloth. I've been searching for a horse print “anything” for ages and I was delighted to find this one. As for the styling? I decided to keep it pretty simple but I couldn't resist adding my thrifted bowler hat. I swear, all of my outfits are cuter with a hat! Although, I'm not ready for summer to be over (for the record)! I'm getting pretty excited to transition my summer dresses into fall: textured tights, Jeffrey Campbells, and cozy cable knit cardys ...are so calling my name!
