Cozy Coats And Cupcakes

Hello! Well, I meant to post these on Monday but it's been such a crazy busy week. I've been in the throes of starting my new Stella & Dot jewelry business. Ah, I love the buzz of taking on new projects - always so exciting! This week I received all of my business supplies, jewelry samples and merchandising displays. So that's kept me plenty busy + I'm hosting a jewelry party/launch at our condo this weekend. Cupcakes, refreshments, and lots of gorgeous baubles. Heaven!!

And... I can't believe how much of a jeans girl I've become. Lately, they're my favourite wardrobe staple. That or a pencil skirt when I go out for dinner. These days, my looks have been pretty uncomplicated and I'm happy keeping it comfy & simple. I recently went through my blog archives and I can't believe how much my style has changed. I'm definitley excited to see where it goes this year. I have lots of ideas! Also, the lovely folks from Boutique Onze (they sent me this adorable jacket) are offering you guys a 20% discount on all their coats. Yay! Online code: Jacket20. Have a great day, everyone!

Our Newly Painted Dining Room!

Ah, there's nothing better than paint - especially when it's a fun & daring colour, like red! I've always been drawn to bold pops of colour in home decor, but for some reason I've been too chicken when it's come to our own space. So with that said, I took the plunge, threw my reservations out the window and decided to go for it! We're absolutely in love with the final result! Our condo is open concept with over-height ceilings, so our feature wall has lent itself perfectly to the rest of the space + pairs well with our beige decor and dark kitchen. Fun! We chose Benjamin Moore Nutura paint in Grand Canyon Red; it's a non VOC paint and my favourite part is it has no odor. My hubby was more than gracious and did all the trim - it's my least favourite part. And Scout?!... Well, you know, he had the easiest job of all! Wishing you a great Thursday, friends. Anyone else painting? I'd love to hear all about it! xo

(AND... a little before & after action! We're loving the final look!!)

Going For The Classics

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been over a month since my last look book post - jeez, that just zipped on by. I'm excited to be back at it though, and hopefully I'll be sharing my outfits a little more often - it's something I've really started to miss. When it comes to style, I definitley have a classic side but it's one I haven't really explored much over the past few years. Lately, it's an aesthetic I've been eager to re-visit. Blame it on getting older, I guess! ;)

And... in other super exciting news! Yup, I'm excited!! I just joined the Stella & Dot team as an Independent Stylist. You can shop my online store, here (Canadian readers only, sorry guys)... and if you have any style questions, feel free to email me. I'd love to help! I can't wait to start hosting parties as well as be part of a social business. After working from home for far too long, this is just what I need! Have a great day everyone! xo

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posts last week, guys. I had a bit of a health setback, and as a result, ended up laying pretty low. But thankfully, I'm back on my feet and paying extra attention to what I eat. For the past six months I've been following a hypo-allergenic diet, but lately I've been sneaking in a bit of sugar here & there (oh, the holidays) and I ended up having a pretty awful reaction to it. Ugh. So this week, I'm stepping back and taking care of myself: hitting the gym, doing my yoga, and experimenting with sugar-free desserts. Sheesh, I should have known better!

Ok, on to the post! We've finally been getting hit with some much needed sunshine, so Martin & I saw this as the perfect opportunity to head out to Southport in White Rock. We're in the area often visiting our friends Clint & Erin, and we also attend church there. But we've never explored this particular nook; it's right beside a nature-rich golf course. The houses were so lovely + I adored the Cape Cod feel to them... and (eek) are about a million dollars. I swear, the real estate prices are crazy here in Vancouver! We enjoyed a fantastic walk along the river though, grabbed some Japanese food, and watched Scout (our pooch) enjoy some major off-leash adventure time. He had to say hello to everyone we met, haha, too cute! What an awesome weekend! What did you guys get up to?!...

Goodbye 2012 & Hello 2013!

Hello! Happy 2013 everyone!! Sorry things have been so quiet around here. I hope to be back to my regular blogging schedule by next week... but in the meantime, I've been loving the break and having time off with my hubby + family. This year, we welcomed the New Year with a simple & quiet celebration. We met up with our friends Jeff & Kira for Japanese food, watched The Hobbit in 3D, and then went back to their place. We sat around, shared our goals and thoughts for 2013, snacked & sipped tea + watched the big NY celebration. It was lovely!

Looking back... although 2012 was a tough year for me, I still felt so incredibly blessed and like I had so much to be thankful for. As many of you know, I struggled with my health, a lot. But in the end, my greatest hardship became my greatest blessing: I clung to the things that mattered and quickly did away with the things that didn't. 2012 was a year of gaining perspective and growing stronger in my values. As for 2013?!... Well I'm happy to see that my health is returning, Martin & I are excitedly planning to start a family, work on our home, get more involved in our church, and generally live our life with a greater sense of purpose.

I haven't done too much in the way of writing out specific goals, but rather have been inspired to create more of a theme for 2013. My word to sum it all up is "delve." Delve deeper into my life, my commitments, my career, my marriage, my community, my friendships, my artistic life, my yoga practice, and my passion for healthy living + cooking. I'm excited! On that note, thanks so much for your love & continued support, everyone. I can't wait to get back to blogging in 2013 and see what this year holds for me! ♥
