Look Book: Late Fall Evenings & A Vintage Skirt...

It seems most of my days off start with high hopes! This includes things like: going to the gym, cleaning the house, sorting my paperwork, and other non-exciting things. Needless to say, I did not go to the gym... nope, instead I settled on an afternoon nap, an amazingly delicious fall lunch (mashed potatoes & vegy stew) and the most delightful walk! Lately, I've been working really long hours, so days like this are just perfection!! ♥
Am I on a roll or what, guys?! Last week I featured beautiful yellow leaves, and this week I'm back with stunning red ones! My first fall as a fashion blogger is leaving me feeling super excited & inspired. I'm absolutely in love with taking outfit photos right now. And hooray, Martin did such a great job on these!!

I have been living in browns, mustard hues and earth tones lately!! I just received this gorgeous skirt from EL Vintage and (gasp!) it was love at first sight. The colours are absolutely perfect for fall and the silhouette is so pretty & girly. And the best part?! The skirt has a totally different pattern in the back. Yay, two skirts in one. Score! Look Book: Rain Drops & Thrifted Skirts!!

Aw, it was a slightly rainy and rather dreary day but I still found it super beautiful out. The air was crisp, and as you can see we still have a few green trees sprinkled throughout our neighbourhood. Rain or no rain, I'm a trooper, and I happily headed out to take outfit photos and even splashed in the odd puddle! Totally fun... minus the slightly wet tights. ;)
I was SO thrilled to find this skirt on one of my recent thrifting adventures! Ah, the pattern & awesome pleats totally won my heart!! It's definitley been getting chillier lately, so these days... light jackets, boots, and cozy scarves have been a wardrobe staple! But seriously, I couldn't be happier. I love fall layers and I can't wait to share lots of cozy & layered looks with you this season. 
Hooray, the sweet, sweet weekend is almost upon us. What is everyone up to for Halloween?! I think Martin & I will be spending ours watching a few scary movies and eating lots of candy with a few of our close friends! Either that, or I'll put on a mask, call it a costume and meet up with our friends at their annual Halloween party. Haha, what are you guys wearing for Halloween? Share, share ...away! xo

Look Book: Fall Leaves & Spontaneous Outings...

Just a few days ago, I met up with my hubby for a spontaneous after-work date night! It was spectacular out!! I’ve been waiting for the leaves to change colour for what feels like... forever! But finally, the stunning colours have hit the west coast. Yay! So naturally, I couldn’t resist taking a few outfit photos. I'm so thrilled that fall has taken over our neighbourhood!
We spent the remainder of our evening enjoying a glass of wine and lots of great chats. Hubby & I were friends long before we became a couple, and I absolutely love that!! Because even after 13 years together, I feel like we are still the dearest of friends and we love sharing our lives with one another. Haha, sorry guys, apparently I’m in a sappy mood. ;)
As for the outfit?! Well, it was a super quick, oh my gosh, what should I wear, throw it on really fast kind of outfit!! But I love how it turned out. Vintage inspired florals, brown knitted tights and plaid -felt so perfectly fall-esque!! I'm also loving the cognac hue of my Jeffrey Campbell splendid heels; they seem to suit the changing season beautifully. And in anticipation of fall, I've also ordered several dresses from ASOS, which I can't wait to style & share with you guys next week! Yay!! Enjoy your day, friends...

Scenes From: A Night Of Pumpkin Carving...

I can't believe this was my first pumpkin carving -ever!! We had such an amazingly gorgeous day with golden leaves & so much fall sunshine; a perfect afternoon for picking out our pumpkin! I’m super excited to make this our new yearly tradition. And as for next year?! I’m dying to go to a pumpkin patch, complete with friends, yummy spiced drinks, and cider doughnuts! I hear they are amazing! 
Did you notice that Martin is doing all the dirty work?! Haha, I was in charge of toasting up the pumpkin seeds, which were delicious. I used cinnamon, sugar and butter. Yum! I love creating fun traditions for us to enjoy as a couple; it keeps life fun & inspiring. And one day, I can’t wait to do it with our kids. What are some of your favourite fall traditions?!

Look Book: Black, Grey & A Pop Of Pink...

Goodness, we’ve been having the most amazing fall weather lately! I’ve been loving every single second of it. Hooray for sunshine and easy dressing! Jacket. Skirt. Tights. Booties. Yup, that’s my version of an easy outfit. I added a shot of pink, the perfect “pièce de résistance!” And, I was thrilled to wear my new Blowfish booties!! I can not rave enough about these shoes. Adorable, affordable, and fabulously comfortable. Yes, these are the things that make me a very happy girl!
After an afternoon spent enjoying deliciously warm sunshine, hubs and I found ourselves at our nearby grocery store armed with loads of yummy snack foods and a DVD. Haha, we sure know how to live it up on the weekend, right?! We did manage to redeem ourselves by lighting candles, snuggling on the couch (with our pets squeezed in between us) and had our fireplace on. Such a sweet & simple night. Do you guys enjoy nights in too?

Do you guys have a go-to outfit?! This is definitely mine. Cardy's, cute little dresses and tights always seem to steal my heart. I just loaded up on so many tights last weekend: brown, rust, red, polka-dots, floral... oh boy, more than I care to admit! As for the rest of my day? It’s been incredibly gorgeous out. I spent most of it outside with the pooch, followed by a visit to my fave restaurant for soup! Ah, simple days always put a smile on my face!
Did I score at my last swap or what?! Have you noticed just how many swapped goodies I've been wearing & blabbing on about?! It’s such an awesome way to feature new looks without breaking the bank! And this lovely dress is no exception; it’s my first time wearing BB Dakota and I’m smitten. It’s the perfect dress for fall walks, or for late afternoon dates with the Mr.
As for this path?! Ah, love! I can’t wait to come back once the leaves are at the peak of their fall colour. I often walk along here with my groceries -so picturesque! Lately, I’ve been craving & making the yummiest of stews. I just made this one recently: White Bean & Spinach Soup, which I found on Jen’s blog of Jen Loves Kev -so delicious!! Look Book: Stripes, Bowties & A Kiss...

Don't you love when you plan an outfit but wear the exact opposite?! Yup, that was me this weekend, but I absolutely loved how it turned out. We spent most of this past weekend with friends & family and had such a blast. We found ourselves in the city enjoying a lovely dinner on Saturday, followed by a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with the fam on Monday. Aww, love holidays!
Also, a big thank you to Cee from "Coco & Vera" for being such a fabulous bloggy friend, and lending me this adorable skirt. It was the perfect outfit for our night out in the city! Plus, I just ordered the cutest fall-hued dresses & tights from ASOS in anticipation of the amazing fall hues and changing leaves! I can't wait!! It's my first fall as a fashion blogger and I'm so excited to document the gorgeous colours of the season.
Speaking of all things fall, I’m super happy to be carving a pumpkin later this week with the Mr! I seriously can’t believe it’s going to be my first!! I’m now on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin seed recipe. With the amazing fall weather and Halloween just around the corner, my goodness, what is there to not love about October?! Be sure to watch for our pumpkin carving photos next week! I know, I’m such a cheese-ball!
