Look Book: Rain Drops & Thrifted Skirts!!

Oct 28, 2011

Aw, it was a slightly rainy and rather dreary day but I still found it super beautiful out. The air was crisp, and as you can see we still have a few green trees sprinkled throughout our neighbourhood. Rain or no rain, I'm a trooper, and I happily headed out to take outfit photos and even splashed in the odd puddle! Totally fun... minus the slightly wet tights. ;)
I was SO thrilled to find this skirt on one of my recent thrifting adventures! Ah, the pattern & awesome pleats totally won my heart!! It's definitley been getting chillier lately, so these days... light jackets, boots, and cozy scarves have been a wardrobe staple! But seriously, I couldn't be happier. I love fall layers and I can't wait to share lots of cozy & layered looks with you this season.
Hooray, the sweet, sweet weekend is almost upon us. What is everyone up to for Halloween?! I think Martin & I will be spending ours watching a few scary movies and eating lots of candy with a few of our close friends! Either that, or I'll put on a mask, call it a costume and meet up with our friends at their annual Halloween party. Haha, what are you guys wearing for Halloween? Share, share ...away! xo

My plans are pretty similar to yours - watching scary movies curled up with wine and treats. Hopefully we get a few kiddies at the door this year! :)

  48. Oh, how wonderful finding!I would thought that it was some expensive purchase, because that skirt looks amazing and with thick tights it perfect. But I believe that You could transform them to wonderful spring/summer look as well and it's fabulous.
It's raining in Ireland like crazy. We are having some floods as well, so photoshooting is postpone. Fingers cross that tommorow will be nice day.

  49. Such a great find! I love your skirt, and I love how it looks paired with tights, your cute denim jacket and a scarf :) I also love autumn layering...even if I don't love this season too much, because here autumn means raining days (usually 4 a week!).
I still don't have plans for halloween, crazy, huh? I think I'll watch a scary movie with my beloved Moreno :)

  60. heck ya to that patterned masterpiece of a skirt! wow-WOW!! my eyes practically see stars but it could also be b/c i kinda feel like i'm in one of those scenes out of a cartoon. when the main character eyes something up they really like and then the whole cartoon realm turns into a dancing, prancing musical number complete with fireworks blast offs and parades of joy - yups totally sums up my visits here!

you are a trooper veronika, in everything you do or touch. love puddle jumping myself and with those slam-bangers on my feet i think i'd be on the look out for some wet surfaces to pounce on too ; )

we spent last night just the way you described (movie and candy overloads), i think we are two couples that would get along great! thanks for the kindness on my vlog and the understanding about my way delayed swap post. you're the BEST!!!! xoox ♥

  62. Ack! I totally love all your tights! I need to get me a pair of those gray ones from Target (I swear, their knitted tights are the best! I like them even more than We Love Colors - if only they came in as many colors. :-P).

I didn't do much for Halloween - just raided my little sister's closet for an Alex Russo costume to take my two littest sisters trick or treating. I don't really have any friends in the area, so there's not much for me to do on Halloween. Some day I'm going to live near my friends, though, and then I'm going to have a big costume party. :D
