There's something so wonderful about capturing life's sweet little moments. I know one day we'll love looking back and reminiscing about afternoons spent by the ocean, village ice cream dates, and trips to our favourite sushi restaurant. This past week I've been feeling pretty nostalgic - ever since I sorted through our wedding photos, it's become shockingly obvious at how quickly 8 years can flash before your eyes. As a result, Martin & I have spent our last few evenings talking about our goals as a couple and where we'd like to be in five years. We both agree, between my health problems and our busy work schedules, we've been majorly lacking in the "fun" department. As for our main goals?... We'd like to work towards buying a bigger home, buckle down and start a family, pay off our car & debts, and (my favourite) get away on more trips. I have several planned for this spring/summer and I can't wait to share them with you! On that note, wishing you a lovely weekend, friends, and here are a few of my favourite bits from the past week or so...

Hello! It's been a little quiet over here this week... Martin was out of town and I spent most of my evenings totally unplugged, and loved it! You know, living in pj's and watching "The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills." Haha, it sounds so bad, but it felt so good! ;) I also finally sorted & edited our wedding photos. Okay, that took an embarrassingly long time considering we were married 8 years ago. I can't wait to surprise Martin with this post and share it with our family overseas. We had a small wedding of about 30 people and rented a heritage house right by the ocean. It was important to us that our wedding be laid-back and down to earth. Neither Martin & I are overly stuffy that way... in fact, I spent much of it bopping around barefoot and sitting on the porch sipping wine with friends. Pretty awesome!
It's hard to put our day into words because I felt so much. I was nervous and excited but mostly beaming. I remember falling more in love with my husband and friends... I think we all walked away feeling like we had shared something so incredibly sweet and special with one another. I can't help but be reminded of the vows that Martin & I took and to not take one day for granted. It's easy to get caught up and distracted by all of life's busyness. But at the end of the day, there's nothing I love more than my family and my commitment to putting them first. I can't wait for a million more adventures with my amazing husband!

“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.” -- Irish Blessings Quote
A trip down to the ocean was just what Martin & I needed. I don't know what it is, but the last few weeks have left me feeling so scattered. For March, I'd really like to get my butt in gear, and start fresh... new goals, create a blog schedule (it's been a challenge the last few months), change up my hair, finish decorating our place, and get out more with my honey. This winter in particular has been dragging on and I can't wait for spring to arrive. I'm sure I'll have a renewed pep to my step just from the new season. And... look at that sun! Martin & I have made it a priority to get more family time after work as well as mix up our usual routine. We usually pack up some food, grab our dog and head somewhere scenic to chill & unwind. Watching Scout chase birds, run circles around us, listen to the waves crash and take in that amazingly fresh air... definitley chases our troubles away!
