Hey guys, just popping in for a super quick post, and to wish you a happy Friday! This week I've been hunkered down at home and working up a storm - it feels fantastic! I've got a few photography gigs, jewelry orders and blog projects on the go. Here's a little peek into what I wore... I loved how this spontaneous & retro inspired look came together, perfect for an at home day.
I'm pretty darn excited to be taking the weekend off, again! It's almost too good to be true. On Saturday we're heading out to meet Martin's parents for a fancy dinner, to celebrate their 50th anniversary. And on Sunday, I'm hoping for brunch + a bit of vintage shopping, yay! Hope yours is fantastic too!!

Look Book: Bold Stripes & Other Closet Staples

Hello glorious Tuesday! The sun has been out all week (yay) and I just managed to take a few fabulous & computer-free days off. Lately, I've been realizing that I'm absolutely the worst at unplugging, so it's my new goal to start taking weekends off. Martin & I didn't even take blog photos this weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love taking photos for the blog, but sometimes... no make-up, cut-offs and flip flops win! ;)
These photos were taken by yours truly, prior to starting my work day. I admittedly felt a little rusty but I'm hoping to start taking more of my own blog photos, so I'm seeing a lot of practice in my near future. ;) As for the outfit? It includes all of my current summer loves: sandals, light denim jacket and this striped skirt!! Isn’t it lovely?! It's from the super talented Corilynn and it's quickly become a closet staple. Woo-hoo, the rain stopped! So, I thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's comments from my last post, and was comforted knowing that not everyone is having sun at the moment - it really does seem like it's always sunny in blog-land, doesn't it?! Darn West Coast! So this week has been pretty great. I just booked a much needed hair appointment (yay!) and I've finally started exercising again (man, I fell off the wagon) - if you're curious... I'm running and doing power yoga. Love it!
Putting this outfit together was so much fun. I was definitley in a more romantic & vintage inspired mood and the location was just perfect for it too. Fun fact? I'm totally obsessed with old fences. I'm kind of a small-town girl at heart... and lately I've been daydreaming of owning a hobby farm. I'd live in hunter boots + vintage floral dresses, and have a little red barn. So fun! However, I don't think Martin will be jumping on that idea any time soon - he's too much of a city boy. xo veronika

Look Book: Floral Dress + Purple Tights

This past weekend we woke up to rain, so much rain! In my case, that meant some very unruly and uncooperative hair. On Saturday we headed out for hot pot, such perfect comfort food and a weekend tradition around here. We then took a drive to Pitt Meadows, which has the prettiest scenery... old fences, rolling hills, barns, and long winding country roads. I, of course, jotted down lots of location ideas for the blog and can't wait to go back once this darn rain subsides!
Aren't these photos lovely?! I left Martin in charge of the shoot. I normally set everything up and find all the compositions, but Martin decided to do this one on his own, and honestly, I just wanted to stand there and not think! ;) After last week's "knock you on your butt" flu, my energy level is still feeling pretty low. As for this week, I have a rather unsightly amount of work to catch up on - my inbox is busting at the seams. But I'm sure that will be balanced by the fact that I've made lots of fun plans to hang out with my girlfriends too. Enjoy your Tuesday, guys!

Scenes From: Historic Fort Langley

Hello. It feels so great to be back & writing a post. Did you notice my lack of outfits last week-ish?! I ended up getting so sick with the flu and was in bed for almost a week. Not fun. But, I've got lots of posts planned for this week, so watch out. ;) These photos are from a few weeks back when Martin & I visited historic Fort Langley (an old fur trading town) and as you can see, it's gorgeous there. I especially loved taking photos of the scenery, it was so pretty & idyllic!
Fort Langley is definitley one of my favourite towns to visit; all of the shops and restaurants have a real nostalgia to them. I love that. In fact, one of my favourite moments was sitting at a little retro inspired ice cream shop and watching the sunset. The shopping was pretty terrific too, we peeked at the antique mall and then walked over to the pub for a delicious dinner.
I'm excited to be planning several trips for this upcoming summer, and blogging about them - of course! I've had my head buried in my travel book... all week! Are you guys familiar with BC?! Look Book: Floral Cardigan + Yellow Pleats

This past weekend was perfectly uneventful. Martin & I were both fighting off the flu so we spent much of it plopped on our couch: backed up my computer, watched movies, and went out for a bowl of miso soup & sashimi. Yup, blissfully uneventful! ;) I’ve also finally started to learn how to shoot and edit video. I'm having so much fun and can't wait to share something oh-so-soon!!
I've been eyeing this lovely skirt forever and was absolutely thrilled to temporarily swap it with my blogging pal Cee of Coco and Vera. I loved pairing it with a floral cardigan & my new cork wedges from Blowfish - just what I needed, this outfit was an instant cheer me up! xo veronika

Look Book: Sail Boat Prints + Simple Denim

Originally, I was hoping to style something a little dressier for the blog - but errands happened! Today & this week I'm taking a bit of a breather (it's been a stressful two weeks) and focusing on making some healthier/feel good choices: eating well, doing my yoga again, and creating a better work schedule... no more feeling over-worked, please! I'm also excited to write out my goals later today, and get myself feeling organized!
As for the outfit... for me, a cardy paired with a cute blouse & a pair of my favourite jeans has always been a staple look for me. It's pretty much what I exist in when I'm working from home or just grabbing a coffee with a girlfriend. However, I am planning to doll up this blouse by wearing it with my black & white polka dot pencil skirt... oh-so soon! Have a great day, everyone! xo veronika
