Look Book: Dotted Shirt + Retro Pleats

Jun 21, 2012

Woo-hoo, the rain stopped! So, I thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's comments from my last post, and was comforted knowing that not everyone is having sun at the moment - it really does seem like it's always sunny in blog-land, doesn't it?! Darn West Coast! So this week has been pretty great. I just booked a much needed hair appointment (yay!) and I've finally started exercising again (man, I fell off the wagon) - if you're curious... I'm running and doing power yoga. Love it!
Putting this outfit together was so much fun. I was definitley in a more romantic & vintage inspired mood and the location was just perfect for it too. Fun fact? I'm totally obsessed with old fences. I'm kind of a small-town girl at heart... and lately I've been daydreaming of owning a hobby farm. I'd live in hunter boots + vintage floral dresses, and have a little red barn. So fun! However, I don't think Martin will be jumping on that idea any time soon - he's too much of a city boy. xo veronika

  6. ooh! I love this. I'm a sucker for pleated skirts.
I worked at a yoga studio for a little over a year and practiced there for 2. isn't it nice to sweat out all the nasty stuff! I am better in class settings too... it's hard to motivate myself. C'mon martin! There is nothing as charming as a farm house!

  19. We have definitely been having that hot weather here in the west coast. I love it! It's about time we started getting some warmer weather over here! I cannot wait till we have even more hot days.
As for your outfit, I love it! The blouse goes really well with that skirt, it definitely tones the romantic feel of the skirt and gives it a bit of life.

  20. I've never heard the term "hobby farm" before. Is it just living in the country and having a veggie garden, or is it more like sustainable farming, where you are growing more but it is just about enough to sell at a farmers' markets and make enough to break even?

It sounds cute, though living where there's a lot of farms, have to admit, I would never want to live on one! Different strokes and all that I guess <3

Adore your outfit. That belt really adds a wow factor.

  25. I'm right there with you on the falling off the exercise wagon thing, Veronika - I think we talked about this recently! I went out for my firt run in three months yesterday. I wasn't quite as slow as I thought I would be, but still... talk about falling off the wagon and then letting it leave you behind! You are looking lovely though - you would never know you had been away from the gym. I love how you styled my beloved blouse. This look has me thinking it just might work with my yellow pleated skirt! Hope your week is going well. Although how could it not be - the sun is out! xox,

  34. Believe it or not, it's not always sunny out here on the West Coast... only about 90% of the time. Haha! But trust me, babe, I feel your pain. I'm from Michigan and sunny days were scarce there. Think of it this way, though -- overcast days provide the best light! :)

  52. Gorgeous outfit! And I am SO envious of your hair-- I chopped mine super-short a few years ago and I miss long hair so much. The growing-out process takes way too long. ;)
I love old fences, too, and farms. I'm so a farm-girl at heart.
