Goodbye 2012 & Hello 2013!

Jan 3, 2013

Hello! Happy 2013 everyone!! Sorry things have been so quiet around here. I hope to be back to my regular blogging schedule by next week... but in the meantime, I've been loving the break and having time off with my hubby + family. This year, we welcomed the New Year with a simple & quiet celebration. We met up with our friends Jeff & Kira for Japanese food, watched The Hobbit in 3D, and then went back to their place. We sat around, shared our goals and thoughts for 2013, snacked & sipped tea + watched the big NY celebration. It was lovely!

Looking back... although 2012 was a tough year for me, I still felt so incredibly blessed and like I had so much to be thankful for. As many of you know, I struggled with my health, a lot. But in the end, my greatest hardship became my greatest blessing: I clung to the things that mattered and quickly did away with the things that didn't. 2012 was a year of gaining perspective and growing stronger in my values. As for 2013?!... Well I'm happy to see that my health is returning, Martin & I are excitedly planning to start a family, work on our home, get more involved in our church, and generally live our life with a greater sense of purpose.

I haven't done too much in the way of writing out specific goals, but rather have been inspired to create more of a theme for 2013. My word to sum it all up is "delve." Delve deeper into my life, my commitments, my career, my marriage, my community, my friendships, my artistic life, my yoga practice, and my passion for healthy living + cooking. I'm excited! On that note, thanks so much for your love & continued support, everyone. I can't wait to get back to blogging in 2013 and see what this year holds for me! ♥

  2. now that grid really reflects greatness, you had such a head spinner of a year Veronika. i know in so many ways you're glad it's over but gosh, there's such a bunch of goodness that happened too....as we've all been able to see through your eyes :)

happiest 20XIII wishes to both you & Martin - it's gonna be a fab year for sure. your NYE celebrations sounded right up my alley. i've never been a huge partier, much prefer hanging with chill pals and kicking back with some snacks in the warmth of a home space. we did almost the same thing but then joined it with a tasty dim sum brunch the next morning. so good!

LOVE your "word" of the year!!! it's a wonderful mantra that umbrellas so much. thank you for bringing your awesomeness online V, many more blessings the whole year through! ♥

ps: camera date = YAH! and it looks like we're going with the 20th. send along anyone (email + name) you'd like to include, i plan on sending the invite this weekend - double yah!! xo

  6. Delve is a great word to describe a great goal! It's something that takes time and practice but something definitely attainable. My goal this year is to live more positively and I think your goal is similar! Good luck!

  19. I struggled with my health this past year too- finding out I had to be gluten free (and give up dairy for a while too) and slowly seeing my body get back to normal and the way it should be working. I am finally really starting to feel better so I am really excited for 2013! I am glad to hear that you are, too! :)
