Look Book: Sunsets & Sundresses...

Sep 5, 2011

Hello! Last Friday night, Martin (hubs) & I headed out for a little sunset picnic. Ah, it was such a blast! We brought a cozy blanket, our fave bottle of wine and ate some super yummy cheese. Hands down my fave photo-shoot yet! I seriously wish I could bring that gorgeous "golden light" to all of my photo-shoots. Pretty amazing, right?!
Oh, and on a totally separate note, did you guys register for Tieka's INDIE e-conference for New York fashion week? I just signed up and can't wait -it sounds absolutely amazing! I would have loved to have gone to NY this year. Sigh. But I'm planning to [hopefully] attend next year. How fun would that be?! I've actually never been to New York and I'm kind of dying to go!
I absolutely love this equestrian inspired dress from ModCloth. I've been searching for a horse print “anything” for ages and I was delighted to find this one. As for the styling? I decided to keep it pretty simple but I couldn't resist adding my thrifted bowler hat. I swear, all of my outfits are cuter with a hat! Although, I'm not ready for summer to be over (for the record)! I'm getting pretty excited to transition my summer dresses into fall: textured tights, Jeffrey Campbells, and cozy cable knit cardys ...are so calling my name!

Outfit Details:
Bowler Hat - Vintage
Belt - Vintage
Ballet Slippers - Aldo
Lip colour - (Chanel: Gabrielle #19), Lip Liner - (Sephora Real Red #20)

On a side note, I made a little change to the layout of the text. I decided to spread it throughout the photos, rather than clump it all at the bottom. Hope it's easier to read that way. Happy Monday, friends! xo veronika

  4. I just figured out the text is what's different, haha. I don't think I have an unbiased opinion since that's what I do with my text, but it worked for me. I love the lighting behind you and I hope your picnic was just a great. (: It would be so cool to go to NYFW, but I doubt that's in my future. I'll live vicariously through you!

  34. I'm such a sucker for anything with animals (as you may have guessed based on the number of times I've commented on Scout) and so I fell for this dress immediately. The exact words that ran through my head were, "PONY PRINT!" Yep, I'm secretly five-years-old. But I couldn't love this dress more, and I love the way you made it look grown up with a deep red lip. Near sunset photos are my favourite, and these ones are just beautiful. Hope you're enjoying your holiday Monday!

  79. okay love, i finally have some time to catch up over here and have missed visiting a big bunch! you know the way it goes though; we like to make the moments matter and not just do a comment blitz with no recall later ; )

oh Veronika, i think this is one of my favorite pieces of yours to date!!! i've got such a soft spot for animal prints, especially when they are petite and featuring horses! i recently scooped up a horse print dress from UO and lourve it to death.

that bowler hat topper is darling on you too; in fact this whole shoot has me in insp overloads b/c of the glowing light, serene location and of course features including YOU always make me bright eyed!!!

supreme spot for your romantic picnic together, gotta get a heads up on where exactly this place is. it's magnificent!

i'm not registered for the conference but it sounds like a rad idea. when you do get to NY just remember to bring along a neck massager (aka Martin!) cos all you do your 1st day is look UP - it's all so big and tremendous there. LOVE NYC!!!!

the blog changes are awesome lades, i really adore the new background. so soft and subtle. it grounds your content and makes it pop off the page even more without ever obstructing or infringing on your styles. nice choice!!! ♥

pea ess: thanks for the thoughts about Mylo, he should be alright. we're just referring to him now as "the boxer" cos he looks like he got one heck of a grand punch. baha! i sincerely hope to make it for the swap too, want to see you so much and have some real time together. xoox
