Ah, there's nothing better than paint - especially when it's a fun & daring colour, like red! I've always been drawn to bold pops of colour in home decor, but for some reason I've been too chicken when it's come to our own space. So with that said, I took the plunge, threw my reservations out the window and decided to go for it! We're absolutely in love with the final result! Our condo is open concept with over-height ceilings, so our feature wall has lent itself perfectly to the rest of the space + pairs well with our beige decor and dark kitchen. Fun! We chose Benjamin Moore Nutura paint in Grand Canyon Red; it's a non VOC paint and my favourite part is it has no odor. My hubby was more than gracious and did all the trim - it's my least favourite part. And Scout?!... Well, you know, he had the easiest job of all! Wishing you a great Thursday, friends. Anyone else painting? I'd love to hear all about it! xo
(AND... a little before & after action! We're loving the final look!!)
The new color make the room more lively. Nice paint job!

They say it on HGTV all the time, but really, what a difference a coat of paint makes! That looks so great! Also loving your storage piece -- I can't think of the right word for that piece of furniture so I'm going with storage piece -- such clean lines!

ReplyDeletei once painted a dining room a very similar shade :) i bet every time you walk by - there's an extra glance back just to admire your efforts. nice one V + M! um, Scout pitch in a little more next time alright! baha. xo ♥
Looks great! We recently painted an accent wall in red as well and absolutely love it! We have dark furniture but our decorative pieces are in whites so they pop nicely against the bright wall.

I absolutely love the red that you chose! What a beautiful color. Is it strange that I'm the exact opposite about how you feel towards color? Every wall in my house was painted a bright and cheery color, until I took a bold move and painted my art studio white! I've never lived in a solid white room before, so the change is really refreshing and nice:). It took me about a week to paint every wall white, but there is still plenty to touch up! And yuck, trim is the worst! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks really cool! Congrats on taking the plunge...I can't wait until I have a house of my own to paint!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous color! I WISH we could paint our house, but it's a rental so there's no painting allowed. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Love the colour!

ReplyDeletecolor can really change a whole room. Love how it all turned out!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your kitchen may be simple, but by coloring the wall in Grand Canyon Red made the whole room warm and homey. A few accent pieces, like those on the table, can go a long way. I really love your color choice! Kudos for that!
