My honey (aka Martin) and I took these photos on our most recent date night. Truth be told, our date nights have been a bit of a challenge lately. I'm still on my super strict hypo-allergenic diet and can't eat at any restaurants... not fun, can you believe it's already been three months?! Thankfully, I'm finally getting my allergy test results this weekend and I'm counting down the days for when I can visit a super fabulous & tasty restaurant - you can bet I'll be going all out for that!!
Is anyone else counting down for the weekend?! I so am! Martin has four days off and we have lots of fun plans: spending an afternoon with his parents for thanksgiving, it's my moms big 60th birthday on Sunday, there's talk of doing a little day trip and visiting our local antique fair. I'm on the lookout for a round brocade style mirror which I'll be painting a powder blue and hanging above our bed. Well on that note, have a great day guys... and a happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!

ReplyDeleteMy style has definitely been maturing too- a move towards more timeless pieces and more...drapy looks.
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Love the evolving look.
This will be the first time in 6 years that I've actually been home for Canadian Thanksgiving and I am really looking forward to the long weekend and to spending time with family. And I love these muted colours on you offset by the fun pattern in the skirt - it's a great combo.

ReplyDeleteI'd definitely say my style has evolved as well - now I know that simple is usually better. I still like playing around with prints and what not, but less is more! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty skirt you're wearing Veronika, that alone is dynamic to photograph ;)

What a pretty look Veronika, I love that skirt! No restaurants for date night would be challenging--my husband and I share a love for eating!! I hope you can enjoy eating out again soon :)
ReplyDeleteHappy thanksgiving, my friend! I must say, this post warmed my heart particularly because you were wearing this same skirt in the first post I read on Girl and Closet :) Seems like forever ago now and it's been so fun watching your style evolve while the same lovely pieces remain in circulation! Smooches.

I love how your style is evolving. It's so chic and pretty. Not that you ever aren't, but y'know. My style is definitely leaning more towards being more seasonal, which it never was before! I'm dying to make my wardrobe more orange and red and yellow for fall this year!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if my style is necessarily changing but it's definitely wanting to take more risks. Just as I said in my post, I find myself wanting to try out different things I did not like before. But I think that's what fashion is; it's about taking risks and trying out new things even if you don't feel that it's your style. You never know, it could probably work somehow!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely crazy for this look–and I think it photographs brilliantly! Here's to oatmeal and navy and gray–that's what's dominating my closet lately!
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is so pretty! I feel like you don't need to over-style it to make it a wow outfit. And I feel like my style is changing too. I love simple cozy sweaters, solid neutral colors, and classics like Oxford shirts and trenches. Not the crazy pattern mixing of spring!

well, as is the norm around here...this too is pretty awesome. i remember a previous incarnation for your darling skirt and dig this latest evolvement. if there’s a better way to preview fall, i sure don't know what it is! this look has the punch that makes me feel smack dab in the middle of a stylistic swoonfest. top-notch lades and then some!! so many expanding directions you're going in. i like the way you're moving very much. it's feminine, catchy and feel good...way to be!
ReplyDeletehey fellow Madewell lover, we need to exchange notes. i'm after a pair of their boots at the mo. i know you'd mentioned them too.
i was sorry to hear about the return of your symptoms though. no need to ask, you are ALWAYS in my prayers. whenever you 2 are ready, the invitation to come in this direction is open :) oh and i didn't see Tieka's golden boot post....link? can't find anything about it after searching. excited she's got the same pair though! i'm sure she styled them with absolute grace. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!!
love xo ♥

ReplyDeleteThough it's simple, this look is so stunning. Love that skirt on you and I think you paired it perfectly with that sweater and the chic black heels. Glad to hear you're finally getting some closure on that whole ordeal...at least you KNOW now what not to eat, it's so frustrating being unsure! Happy weekend/Thanksgiving love!
