Look Book: Striped Blazers & Denim

Aug 28, 2012

Jeez guys, sorry I've been so MIA lately, the last few weeks have been incredibly bumpy for me health wise. I am slowly regaining my strength though... but it's taking a heck of a lot longer than I'd like. We recently ruled out the possibility of this being an allergy and it looks to be either autoimmune related or a benign tumor, which would be the reason my body is having these crazy reactions. I'm off work at the moment & spending most of my time visiting doctors, or I'm at home sleeping. At this point, I'm looking forward to getting a diagnosis (which feels like it’s taking forever) so I can fully get back on my feet!!
I’m definitely staying positive and trying my best to forge forward. I feel like I have so much to be thankful for: great friends, a supportive family, and an amazingly caring husband - so that helps, a lot! I’m also stubbornly keeping up with my yoga and eating a super healthy anti-inflammatory diet. I’m all about fighting the good fight! And getting back to my routine as best as I can, I've really been missing the little things, like blogging! ;)
Can you believe that September is just around the corner?! Man, summer always just seems to fly by and I’m so not ready to let go. Martin & I are hoping to do a few more day trips before fall officially hits, and enjoy as much outdoor time as possible. I’ve been loving our evening strolls! We usually head over to either our ocean trail, or one of our many forested ones... and I keep praying that we don't run into a bear - ah, don't even get me started! Well, hope your day is a great one, guys!!

  26. I'm sorry to hear the doctors still don't know what's wrong. But at least they are making some progress. Keep eating healthy, I've learned from experience that eliminating everything from my diet besides veggies and chicken has been helpful when my body is in distress. Stay positive and keep us posted. xoxoxo.

  29. Welcome back to the world of outfit posting, Veronika! You've certainly been missed :) I can't imagine what you must be going through, and of course the long wait for a diagnosis has to be the worst part of all - it's even starting to feel long to me, so I can't imagine what it must be like for you! But if it helps, you are looking so gorgeous in spite of everything you've had to deal with recently. I just love your striped blazer, and the pretty silk top poking out from underneath is just lovely. Happy Tuesday, my friend!

  42. Great outfit, Veronika! I just wanted to share my short story. Last year i had a herniated disc that shattered into my spinal cord, needless to say i was in a lot of pain. I had to go through a lot of tests and different methods before resorting to surgery. Anyway, i had to have surgery and i know it seems like such a long process but once you're healthy again it'll be a breeze. Keep your chin up! in the long run, it certainly helps you appreciate your heath.
    Love the blog!

  64. hey sweetness with the pretty side swept bangs! my biggest wish for you right now is to find out what the heck is going on health-wise. when we get off beat because illness takes us down then the whole orchestra inside begins to get silent. i believe that when this occurs it's the time our intuition kicks in and points us in the right direction. i hope yours leads you to just the right place and time to find those answers your so desperately needing and deserve.

thanks for keeping me updated, i'm waiting on some future good news too :) then we can have you 2 over for a night at the loft complete with kitteh kisses and possibly some anti-inflammatory fruit selects! yah.

  79. Hello! I love reading your blog, but it's my first time commenting. I am so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. My friend went through a similar situation of not knowing what was going on with her, and the doctors misdiagnosed her over and over again until she found a doctor that realized she had late-stage Lyme's disease. You might want to check it out. It's so difficult to detect and diagnose!
