Look Book: Red Tights & Comfy Cable Knits...

Nov 24, 2011

Oh exciting stuff, friends! I'm so thrilled I had the chance to sneak in one more fall post -go me!! It hasn't been an easy task, since we've had some pretty crazy winds, hail and rain monsoons. However, just the other day, we had a spectacular afternoon. I ventured out to this lovely spot - the weather could not have been more perfect. My favourite part?! While we were taking outfit photos, the most beautiful red leaves were falling, everywhere! It was so pretty!!
Martin (my sweet hubby) and I spent a part of our day walking around our local urban village - it's seriously the cutest place ever!! Imagine... ocean, mountains, lush trees, and in the middle of it all is a super quaint village filled with pretty brick architecture, charming street lamps, and little shops selling all kinds of yummy foods. So cute, right?! It's our over the weekend go-to spot. We love buying lots of fresh food and then cooking yummy meals together -so great!!
Goodness, I have worn this skirt so many times! I haven't stopped loving it since I bought it from ModCloth earlier this year. And, I've been dying to try a pair of red tights -it's such a fun look. Although, I will admit they seem to get me a lot of attention. Hehe, everyone keeps starring down at my legs. Anyhoo, I opted to tone down the overall pops of red by adding lots of neutral colours: boots, cardy, and my new brown belt. I'm proud to say, I put this outfit together in less than 5 minutes - that's a rarity, believe me! xo veronika
Outfit Details:
Cardigan - Gap
Belt - H&M

  1. What a GORGEOUS collection of photos! I love those red leaves, but more importantly you look amazing! That fourth photo down should be in a magazine!!! And your little village sounds lovely. I'm DYING to know exactly where it is but I really respect that you keep some stuff private on your blog! It's something I've been trying to do for awhile now. ;) You're inspiring!

  4. This must be my favourite outfit that I've seen on blogs in the past few weeks...seriously!! I'm generally shy about wearing bright tights, but you did such a great job of toning them down a bit. The combination of colour, print, and texture in this outfit is incredible, you've become a master of dressing up! :)
I have to say that every time I read your stories about your little town, I want to move there immediately!! It sounds wonderful, just like the kind of place I'd love to be in! :)

  25. Photos with red leaves are one of my favourite parts of fashion blogging in the fall- I never thought of coordinating tights with the leaves (which probably wasn't really your intention either) but the combination is utterly striking! I think everyone was staring because of how amazing your legs look :) And that ModCloth skirt is such a gem, I can't blame you for wanting to wear it again and again. Hope you're having a wonderful Thursday, dear friend.

  31. Oh my gosh, it sounds like you're living in the perfect little town. I should rent a car some time an check it out. I love living downtown Vancouver, but I am missing all the cute, quiet places that I know from the Netherlands.

I am a huge fan of your tights. I can imagine that many people stared at them, but probably only because they match so perfectly with those beautiful red leaves! :-)

    Have a good Friday!

  39. LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS! omg, were you running towards Martin in the 4th pic, it's just one of the best shots of you i've ever seen! and that's a hard call b/c each and every photo with you in it is something i could gaze upon endlessly. but the thing is, that one has this most gleeful expression - it's the perfect cross between little girl and lovely lady.

then there's your awesome outfit to BRAVO over. toasty oatmeal cardy and red-ilicious tights paired with ruggedly grounding buckled boots and delicate floral skirt - which i can never get enough of, ModCloth sensation indeed!

aren't the red leaf beds beautiful right now? we discovered a carpet of colorful blends last week, yellow, burnt orange and hazel crispy-crunchies. ohhhh, fall is certainly my fave time of the year.

the 5 minute marker bodes well for you lades, mayhaps a timer needs to be placed by the closet so you can keep this beat alive! i've hunched over hangers for many long moments trying to come up with something half as darling - this look is nailed and wonderfully detailed!! happy weekend wishes. ♥

pea ess: gaaaa, love the shabby apple dress you chose for your giveaway veronika, isn't it a shame they only allow the US shipping though. i was bummed about it but maybe one day they'll open it up to include us "internationals" too : )

and i'm super selfishly sads about not winning the wonderful Moorea giveaway but major congrats to Ayla Rose, she is one lucky lady for sure!!! xoox
