It feels so fantastic to be back with a post. Yay! Blogging has definitley become a lot more fun, now that I've taken the pressure off myself... I've been carrying my camera around non-stop, and I just bought a diary so I can jot down future blog post ideas. It's been working like a charm! So... as you can tell by these photos, Christmas is in full swing at our home. Love it! I'm on a steady diet of hot chocolate + marshmallows, there's holiday music playing all day long and I've started bookmarking holiday recipes. I love planning and getting crafty for the holidays; it makes Christmas that much more fun & special for me.
This year, I'm also hoping to create some holiday traditions for Martin & I. Yearly rituals we can share with our kids, ahem, hopefully soon! ;) Do you guys have any holiday traditions you love to do?! I'd love to hear about them and get some ideas. One event we'd love to get out and see is Grouse Mountain's Peak of Christmas... there's a massive skating pond, real reindeer, sleigh rides, a Christmas choir, and it's all set against an alpine backdrop. Pretty stunning, right?! We'd also love to attend the nutcracker ballet this year, paired with a fancy dinner in the city. Can't wait! Alright, the Christmas countdown is ON. Food, time with friends & family... I'm pretty certain this is the best time of year!
pretty ornaments! and what a great idea to have a journal for all your blgging ideas... i might have to steal that from you :)
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute! Beautiful pictures!

Aw, I love seeing Scout helping out with the decorating - that last snapshot should be framed with the family photos, I think! I also think I need to get on the same diet you're on... chocolate and marshmallows, here I come :) Seriously, though, it looks like you two must have the prettiest tree in the neighbourhood!

Our family usually bakes cookies for the entire neighborhood. It's a lot of fun and it goes along with the generous attitude of the season! Your tree looks great, and aww your dog is so cute :)

aw cute braids and yaaaay christmas!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how you kept up with it all. Sponsor stuff was my biggest challenge, they came and I promised to deliver all of this stuff but it became overwhelming (and boring) to have a strict schedule of posts to write! I love seeing more of your house/life so I am glad you are going to be more free in your posting and blogging style! And by the way, we totally need to one day have a cute puppy play date!

Love these pictures, Veronika! My bf and I attended the Christmas lights at Van Dusen Gardens last year and it was so fun... would love to make that one a tradition if I were home for the holidays.

I needed to adopt your attitude on blogging and start carrying my camera around with me more frequently! I, too, want to incorporate more small daily life things to my blog.
ReplyDeleteYou are simply lovely and I'm sort of want to steal your dog... heheh.

Looks like fun! Odd as it sounds, watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy is a tradition at my house - mostly because the movies all came out around a week before Christmas. It's a weird tradition, but so much fun! <3
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying blogging again!
The Grouse thing sounds fun, as does the nutcracker!
ReplyDeleteLovely to start traditions together, we need more at my house now that we have a small boy to entertain,

Ahh I love this time of year! And i love seeing other people's posts of how they're celebrating the festive season. Looks like you had a great time decorating the tree :) x
ReplyDeleteI adore the first photograph. Actually, all of these pictures just scream Christmas and I'm more than ok with that. It's my favorite time of year just because of how happy everyone gets and being able to hunt down/make the perfect presents for people. The best holiday tradition my family has is making a poster celebrating the year we had on New Year's Eve. We all contribute drawings and have a blast making it.
