Look Book: Cream Pleated Midi Skirts & Historic Homes!

Nov 29, 2011

Firstly, a big thank you to Paige (my dear friend) of Barefoot Vintage for sending me this gorgeous skirt & red obi belt. And secondly, thank goodness for bloggy friends that send me clothes, because just the other day I had "one of those" moments - gulp, you know the one where you open your closet, stare at your clothes and you come up with nothin?! Thankfully, this styling story has a happy ending -yay! I've since decided to plan out my outfits way in advance! I'm totally getting my fashion nerd on, guys. ;)
Isn't this a charming spot for outfit photos?! I love the little lamps on the building and the awning is so cute, right?! I'm just smitten with our historic little town. I love finding new & charming spots for my blog pictures, and it seems like the perfect place to wear my vintage dresses - I fit right in!! But goodness, it was cold - my hands felt like ice cubes by the end. Even my hubby yelped (aw) when I put my hands on the back of his neck. Hehe!
Just this past Friday, I was over-the-moon excited to visit one of my favourite local stores, Barefoot Contessa - it's truly my idea of heaven! Their clothes are the perfect balance of vintage inspired, girly and super romantic. Love!! I'll be sharing a few photos of my visit (yay!) next week-ish, and I'll also be hosting a Barefoot Contessa giveaway on the blog too, so stay tuned for that. Have a great week, guys! What's everyone up to?  xo veronika

  47. Oh Veronika, I know just what you mean about that feeling you get standing in front of your closet... The worst thing is when it happens when you know full well you have beautiful things, but you're stumped about what to do with them! Aren't you lucky that Paige bailed you out, and with such beautiful pieces, too! I just love the obi belt, and how the colour draws your eye right in. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see it in person this weekend? Here's hoping :)

  49. You always find the prettiest little places to take outfit pictures. I need to get better at this, but I take my pictures on my own with my tripod/remote .. so I feel super awkward if I'm truly out in public! Nate *can* take them, but I know it's not his favorite thing to do.. and I'm so picky. :x Heh! Maybe if I let him practice a bit more he would get into it.

I really love that skirt. It's the perfect length. I'm on the tall side, so I love a skirt that has some length! The pop of color from the belt is lovely too- and it's so unique! Gorgeous as always, Miss!

  59. Absolutely in love with this look Veronika, may be one of my favourites. I love how the way you described Barefoot is exactly how I'd describe this look - feminine, romantic, and vintage-inspired, and all pulled together with a Veronika-style-je-ne-sais-quoi. That second to last pic of you is especially stunning! Can't wait to see what you're offering as a giveaway from BC :)

Thanks again for the sweet comment and tweet, it means so much and I really appreciated it a lot! It was the most amazing thing to wake up to :)
