We finally had a rain-free day, so Martin & I happily headed out for a mini adventure. Oh boy, life on the West Coast isn't easy when you're a blogger -we've been getting so much rain! We headed to a small historic town (close to where we live) and explored the downtown area. The streets are lined with heritage homes which have been converted into charming tea shops, bookstores and even a few art galleries. It's so quaint; we love living here!!
Ah, this little bookstore was so full of charm. I loved the interior... old hardwood floors and lined with fantastic books -everywhere! Hopefully (sometime soon) we'll get to take some outfit photos inside too. How fun would that be?! I absolutely love old bookstores! It's amazing to think that it used to be someone's home, filled with memories, family dinners and just to day-to-day life! Pretty neat, right? That said, I'd love to own a heritage home one day. But my goodness, Vancouver has such insane real estate prices!! So for now, we are happy condo dwellers.
Pleats. Ruffles. Pink. Oh my!! When Emily of "EL Vintage" sent me this dress, I was immediately over the moon in love with it. I've already worn it several times this week and paired it with a chunky cable knit cardy and black ruffled ballet flats -loved that look so much too. Also, be sure to pop by "EL Vintage," guys. Emily has such an amazing eye for gorgeous vintage pieces and she's offering you (yay!) a 15% discount with code: "15girlcloset"! Happy almost Friday. Does anyone have any fun adventures planned for the weekend?!

That is such a perfect outfit, it's ultra feminine and the blazer really ties it all together. I too love the older bookstores, I can spend hours just roaming each section, drinking my hot cider, and petting the business' chubby kitty.

I've been making use of two things for my photos lately--umbrellas a spontaneous cloudbreaks. I would assume Portland is just like Vancouver weather-wise. Anyway, this is a perfect example of a dress I'd never even dare to wear but that you totally made your own!

you make it your mission to inspire Veronika! spotting the value of no-name vintage pieces and fashion trend choices is something i can count on you featuring here. this darling dress is in unbelievably great condition! Alicia's blazer seems made for it and i also really like the soft curl in your hair today.
ReplyDeleteyah, rain free-dom!!! the tick-tick-ticking at night has been driving me up the wall ; ) you guys look like you made the most of it with this little tour time. the leaf sprinkled sidewalk gives it such an extra jolt of vintage spirit. gorgeous!!!! ♥
pea ess: thanks so much for your last comment and the shoe link. mayhaps another early b-day gift idea i'm gonna send Sean's way. fingers crossed! xoox
This is such a moody fall post, like a short film! I love it completely, from the pretty outfit to the setting (who could pass up an old bookstore?) and the leaves on the ground, it's tugging at my heart strings and making me want to be there!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is perfectly you and works so well with Alicia's jacket, just gorgeous! xx

ReplyDeleteConfessions of a Purse-a-holic
Lovely dress! xx
ReplyDeletethat dress is the PERFECT color on you!
ReplyDeleteWe've had just the opposite problem here--this is day 18 of no rain, which isn't normal for where I live. Silly weather. I love this pretty pink dress, and that jacket is too cool!
ReplyDeleteOld timey bookstores are my favourite place to take photos- the more cluttered and disorganised, the better! I hope we'll get to see the inside of this charming shop soon, but in the meantime you're looking lovely next to its exterior. I love the way you paired the extremely feminine pink vintage dress with a more masculine cut and earthy print jacket, the contrast seems to be just what each piece needed! And your hair is looking particularly lovely in these photos :) Hope it's rain-free where you are today!
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
I can't believe how high prices still are, especially in NYC, so I'll be living in my co-op for awhile longer. I love old dwellings, there's always so much to see, little nooks and crannies with surprises. Your outfit is so cute too!
ReplyDeleteLove the pleats and LOOOVEE those shoes.
ReplyDeleteThis bookstore looks adorable!
