Hello again, friends.
The last time I sat down to write here was in December. I remember feeling so much joy at the thought of a fresh blogging chapter, but as many of you know, life - and health - don’t always follow the editorial calendar we set for ourselves.
Shortly after my last post, my MCAS and fatigue became relentless. Looking back at my December blog post now, I can see that the fatigue was already starting to rear its ugly head. It’s a strange thing to navigate; when basic tasks like a shower, a walk around the block, or cooking a simple dinner completely deplete my batteries, it’s hard to know where my baseline lies or when to stop. Physically, there is a lot going on for me these days. Some days I am flat-out in bed, and feeling so incredibly sick. But, I’m here now, hoping things are shifting and I can slowly pick up from where I left off.
Let’s call it "cautiously optimistic."
I’m excited to reclaim this space (it fills me with all the feels), though I suspect there will be a shift in how I show up. I’d love to focus on candid photos (don’t worry, there will still be outfits!), heartfelt writing, and perhaps a bi-weekly roundup of what I’m loving. That feels much more manageable for this stage of my life. Realistically, if I don’t make things easy for myself, I won’t be able to maintain the pace or preserve my health. I’m learning to find the beauty in a slower life!
I also gave the blog a little "zip" and re-polish, and I loveee how it looks. The navy, champagne, and red palette feel like the perfect re-brand for 2026. I’m still very much in my vintage era, but I’m finding myself wanting to layer in more preppy, classic pieces too. Why pigeonhole ourselves? That’s the beauty of style - it’s meant to be individualized, soulful, and full of character. Just like the historic towns I love and currently live in!
And speaking of evolving, I’m slowly moving away from my go-to blonde and growing out my natural colour. Also, drumroll please… I’m trying to wear my hair straight. With perimenopause (insert all the fist emoji’s), I’ve noticed a shift in my hair; it’s become brittle, hates heat, and definitely cannot handle bleach anymore. My hot take? I don’t hate it straight, but I don’t exactly love it either. Lol! I’m sure it’s just something I need to get used to, and I can still curl it if we’re heading out for dinner or date night.
So, there you have it: a little update on health, the blog, and the hair! ;) I’m hoping to be back with an outfit post this week or next, but it’s also very TBD. Martin is currently recovering from a horrible flu and has been off work for two weeks (which is crazy!), so we are officially behind on everything and need to get our lives back in order.
But enough about me, what’s new with you? I’ve missed our chats! Also, let me know what you think of the new blog look? x
