Weekend Polka Dots

Feb 12, 2013

I'm pretty certain every girl should own a polka dot pencil skirt! Mine has been such a fun + worthy investment. It works seamlessly in my wardrobe and works great for pattern mixing too. I love pairing mine with floral patterns, animal print, or even fun & preppy stripes. What's your favourite polka dot pattern mix?! Come spring, I'm sure I'll be playing around with this skirt a lot. Yay, spring... I can't wait!

Martin & I just enjoyed a super relaxing long weekend here in BC. We went shopping and I finally visited J.Crew - I'm pretty much in love with all things preppy and classic at the moment. Then we went to Banana Republic and I bought a fantastic light grey knit blazer and spring-ready stripey tops. Sunday we visited West Vancouver (I went to high school there), enjoyed a gorgeous seawall walk, ate frozen yogurt (chocolate and fresh fruit) and drove by the beautiful estate homes. I topped it all off with guilt-free condo loafing: TV, yummy snacks, cozy slippers, comfy sweats and a top knot. Really, what more could a girl ask for?! ;)

  5. Lovely as usual. I bought a polka dot skirt online recently . It looked like white dots on line but it's actually black and gold. That works too right. Love how you styled this one

  11. Can you really ever go wrong with polkadots? Personally, I don't think so - they're just so versatile, not to mention fun! I love the way you dressed your pencil skirt down by pairing it with a denim jacket and soft knit scarf. Perfect for a relaxed but still put together weekend. And as for J. Crew, I must admit that shopping-wise, it's the one thing I really miss over here. Their designs just could not be any cuter!

  16. So true! I still regret not getting that lovely skirt I spotted at F21 a while ago. It had sold out the next time I visisted :( Banana Republic stole my heart :) I love their quality basics so so much :) I splurged on a pretty striped skirt for spring and a sweet polka dot shirt :) Can't wait for the warmer weather to come so I can mix them with all colourfull things in my closet! x
