Happy Canada Day and (almost) Independence day, everyone!! Our town just hosted its annual fireman's pancake breakfast - super cute. I've spent most of my long weekend puttering around the home, visited with family and managed to squeeze in some thrift shopping too. This week, Martin is starting his summer holidays (he's a teacher) and I'm so excited! I love that we get to spend so much extra time together during the summer - it's absolutely my favourite time of year! ;)
It feels so fantastic to be reaching into my closet and pulling out my summer dresses. I have so many that I'm excited to style up for the blog this season. So far this summer, I've been pairing mine with cute little blazers or sheer knit pullovers. We're lucky here in Vancouver... our summers don't really get crazy hot, so light layers are still possible, which I love. Enjoy your day, guys!!

Aw man, you certainly are lucky! Haha, it gets crazy hot here in the summer which makes any stylish layering impossible. So it takes some creativity to make an outfit look more special.

You lucky lady - so glad you got to take advantage of one of our rare days of sun to pull out such a lovely summer ensemble. That dress just epitomises summer chic and the pairing of the straw fedora is really perfection in every way.
